History

Martin and Julie Vine had no plans or intentions to start a church until one day Martin was praying and the Lord challenged him to 'plant a seed that would grow with the community'. In faith they started Menai City Church, which is now called UrbanLife Church (September 2005).

UrbanLife Church was in the planning stage from Wednesday 17 August 1994 with the first core group meeting in Martin and Julie Vine's home with only 11 people. On October 29th we had a planning camp at Bundeena with 13 adults (19 including children) where we began to plan our future together. From those 13 adults we had a five hundred-dollar a week minimum commitment for the first year of the church.

On February 4, 1995 we had our first public meeting, and close to 300 people attended.

The next week we had to face reality again with about 18 people in the service. In this service, one lady made her first-time commitment to the Lord and became the first fruit of UrbanLife Church. The church now has hundreds of people in attendance on weekends and God has been faithful in helping us reach people in our community.

It is now 13 years young and our future is exciting. 2005 saw the launch of our Peakhurst region service and we are looking forward to beginning in the Moorebank region in the future. We hope you will be part of the next chapter in this great adventure.
